Euronews: Herschel Telescope in the final stages of completion

The Herschel programme is rapidly moving towards its 2007 launch schedule. The Herschel telescope will be the largest orbiting telescope ever built and will enable scientists to further examine the composition of our galaxy using infrared technology. Simulation of Star Formation

A scientific simulation shows an even distribution of cold molecular matter, equivalent to 50 solar masses at an initial temperature of 10 K or -263 Celsius, collapse into filaments where stars are created in the denser regions.
